JOY, Charles Wallace (1890- )

Charles Joy was born at Ballarat in 1890. He was educated at the Ballarat School of Mines (SMB), and the University of Melbourne (B.C.E. 1919. Charles Joy was a Radiographer with the 5th Australian General Hospital. He wrote an article on localisation in radiology in 1917.

The post war career of Charles Joy revolved around the Melbourne consulting engineering firm 'Joy and McIntyre'.

Charles Joy applied for a number of Letters Patent for an invention, such as Reinforcement for brickwork and masonry (1929), Improvements in heat radiating elements and reflectors (1930), Fly screen for chimneys and flues (1932), and Improvements in heat radiating element holders (1933).
