Course readings

Course Readings is a service provided by the University library, which allows staff to make copyright material available online for student access. Library staff ensure all the copyright terms and conditions are properly complied with and then scan the item (if required) and make the item available for staff to add to their Course Readings list. Library staff will also check whether the item is already available through a licensed database and if so, provide the necessary URL to academic staff. In this way students can be provided with direct online access to resources and staff are sure that copyright requirements are being properly complied with.

All staff using Moodle (our learning management system) are required to use the Course Readings service to make copyright material available via their subject pages. Staff must not scan copyright material and place it into a learning management system themselves.
