International Student Buddy Program

Coming to study here from overseas can be confusing. We want to make sure that new international students get everything they need to know in those first few weeks - say hi to our International Student Buddy Program.

We match new international students who need a Buddy with an experienced student who has (most of) the answers. Buddies can answer any of those 'life' questions - where to buy a SIM card, how to use a Myki, what an 'Esky' is. They can also help new students to make new friends by joining clubs or local groups and coming to events - making sure that they have a friendly face on campus. They can even be a great person to practise your English with.

We're always looking for more student volunteers to become Buddies - if you want to learn about a new language or culture, do something that looks good on the resume or are purely motivated by helping out someone who needs it, we'd love to hear from you.

Whether you need a Buddy, or want to be one, please fill in one of the forms in the links on the left.

If you need more information about what's involved, check out our FAQs, or contact multicultural.ss@federation.edu.au

Please note that for Semester 2, 2019 this is a pilot program for students in Berwick and Gippsland only. Students at other campuses should contact us with any and all questions.
