Why I chose to study at Federation University’s Gippsland Campus

"You might be curious to know why I chose to study at one of the smaller campuses Federation University has in regional Victoria. And the answer is simple, I really liked the idea of the smaller class sizes, and the multicultural student environment where students come from a variety of professional backgrounds and cultures.

Studying and living in regional Victoria has been an eventful and awesome experience for me. From the serene valley of Churchill and its surrounds to the bustling towns of Traralgon and Warragul, Gippsland's got it all. I love knowing that I can choose between the snow and the beaches, both being only a beautiful drive away from the campus.

One of the best things about choosing a university like Federation University, is that I am still part of a large community of students just like myself. I receive the same treatments and benefits as all the other students at the larger campuses too. From the moment I landed at Melbourne airport, I was collected by the University and driven to Churchill, I felt welcomed. It was easy for me to adapt quickly into my studies, as I secured an accommodation scholarship with Fedliving before my arrival.

No matter which campus I chose to study Engineering at, I knew that the degree was accredited through Engineers Australia. I encourage all students who study Engineering to become familiar with them because it’s great to network and receive regular updates from them.

Lastly, did you know that Melbourne has been voted several times to be the most liveable city in the world? It is evident in it’s vibrant multicultural community and easily accessible via train from Churchill. Studying in Victoria opens many opportunities to experience Victoria’s vibrant multicultural atmosphere - friendly people, variety of cuisines, efficient transportation system, festivals and events, beaches, parks, and recreational centres. They all contribute towards ensuring an exciting study journey in Victoria, Australia.
