Short biography
Dr. Jiangang (Mike) Ma is currently a lecturer of information technology in the Institute of Innovation, Science and Sustainability with Federation University Australia. Before joining Federation University Australia, Dr Ma worked as a lecturer of Data Science and Statistics with James Cook University. Dr. Ma's research interests in information technology include Data Science, Algorithms Design, Artificial intelligence, Image/video processing, Internet-of-Things(IoT), and Health Informatics.
Before working as an academic lecturer, Dr. Ma used to work as a research fellow at Centre for Applied Informatics (CAI) with Victoria University, where he worked on an ARC funded research project. Prior to that, he joined School of Computer Science at the University of Adelaide as a postdoctoral research fellow working on an ARC funded research project of IoT.
Dr Ma earned his PhD degree in computer science from Victoria University and a master's degree in information technology from Queensland University of Technology. After that, he worked as a professional software engineer for several years.
Dr Ma has published over 40 research papers on international journals and conferences, including the papers published on top international journals and conferences, such as IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering(ICDE) and IEEE International Conference on Data Mining(ICDM), etc.
