Regional Adjustment
We are delighted to continue to support increased access to, and participation in, tertiary education by students from regional and remote areas.
Under the Regional Adjustment Scheme, eligible applicants who apply through VTAC will automatically be granted up to 5 extra points on top of their aggregate score.**
The regional adjustment will be applied to the aggregate scores of applicants who meet the following three criteria:
- Current Year 12 students applying for a higher education degree through VTAC;
- Australian and New Zealand citizens studying in Australia; or holders of permanent residency visas studying in Australia;
- Living in a regional, rural or remote postcode. Check if your postcode is eligible.
**The aggregate score is not the same as a student's ATAR score. The aggregate is calculated using the study scores for up to six subjects. The ATAR is then developed from the aggregate of the student's VCE study score.
