Federation invites students to be informed

Posted: Friday 9 December 2022

New university and TAFE students will have the chance to experience life on campus with a series of expo-style information days to be held at Federation University Australia.

The Federation information days will feature campus tours of our world-class facilities, workshops, guest speakers and presentations, personalised advice on study options, VIP sessions for Early Offer Program applicants, guidance on adjusting VTAC preferences and information on scholarship opportunities.

On campus and virtual information days will take place on Tuesday 13 December at campuses in Ballarat (Mount Helen and Camp Street), Berwick, and Gippsland.

Info day is aimed at Year 12 students applying to Federation for 2023 and their parents and guardians, prospective mature age students, current students from Federation and other universities, and Vocational and Education Training (VET) students and graduates.

Federation Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Duncan Bentley encouraged potential students to attend.

“Info Day takes place shortly after the release of ATAR and VCE results, so it’s an ideal opportunity for prospective students to visit the campus, speak with staff and learn about their study options with Federation University.”

Federation offers extensive courses ranging from TAFE and short courses, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, which are supported by world-class research and teaching across a wide range of specialist fields.

The University will bring a range of new offerings next year including a Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery at our Mt Helen campus, a new Graduate Certificate in Paramedicine, and two new streams in the Master of Specialist Teaching (Early Intervention) & (Learning Intervention) designed for teachers to upskill their Graduate Certificate of Health (Paediatric Nursing).

Federation is set to become Australia’s first co-operative university, where programs will be co-designed, co-developed and co-delivered in partnership with industry and extended workplace learning embedded in all programs by 2025. Four foundation co-op courses will be on offer in 2023; Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of IT, Bachelor of IT (Professional Practice) and Bachelor of Visual Arts.

Federation is Victoria’s leading regional university and is ranked number one in the state for undergraduate starting salary and social equity. Federation has also been ranked number one in Australia for first generation student enrolment for the past three years.
