Posted: Tuesday 3 August 2021

The Queensland Government has announced the lockdown of South East Queensland due to an outbreak of COVID-19 in the community.

The lockdown extends from 4:00pm Saturday 31 July 2021 to 4:00pm Sunday 8 August 2021, impacting the areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan City, Moreton Bay, Redlands, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Noosa, Somerset, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim.

In compliance with the QLD government restrictions, Federation University’s Brisbane Campus is temporarily closed until Monday 9 August, pending government advice.

All Brisbane classes will temporarily move to online delivery and students will be asked to check Moodle and emails for updates.

In Victoria, our campuses are open but with restricted activity including: only practical teaching activities being held on campus; teaching staff and support staff allowed to work on campus; but a 25 per cent cap is in place for office workers.

Staff in Queensland can find full details of restrictions at Roadmap to easing Restrictions | Queensland Government (covid19.qld.gov.au)  and find further information at www.covid19.qld.gov.au.

Updates via email, web and social media. Student support and services are still available over the phone and online if you need it.

A range of Health and wellbeing resources are available online for staff.

Check the following government websites for changes and alerts at www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au (Victoria) or www.covid19.qld.gov.au (Queensland).
