FedUni marketing staff will be visiting Mirboo North Secondary College to conduct a session with students titled “Focus On Your Future”. Topics covered will include qualifications required for different career pathways, what is a pre-requisite and some of the key differences between high school and university study. A current university student will attend the session and share their experiences.

This presentation will be covering topics such as applying to uni through VTAC, information on scholarships, how to apply for SEAS, and extra requirements that students may face (accommodation applications, folio interviews, auditions etc.)

Horticulture Information Session

Get qualified to work in horticulture with our highly practical certificate. This skills based certificate can be taken as part of a traineeship or as an on-campus student if you’re not a trainee. Either way, you will study in our specialised Rural Sciences Skills Centre. You’ll learn a wide range of creative, hands-on skills like planning plant displays, operating machinery, pruning and propagating plants. If you're keen to bring new skills to your family farm or enter one of the many areas in the multi-billion dollar agriculture industry, this certificate will teach you the skills and knowledge needed. The agriculture sector is innovating and shifting as different technologies and practices enter the market. We'll provide you with a hands-on style of training, where you'll learn about stock management and husbandry, machinery operations and fencing through to pastures and chemicals. You'll also become familiar with safe work practices and environmentally sustainable work methods. Diploma of Conservation & Land Management Information Session

Protect endangered species. Advise on bush fire prevention programs. Manage waterway redevelopment projects. Take your love for the environment and make it your career. Becoming an expert in conservation and land management means you can work in rural, suburban and metro settings with a large amount of time being spent outdoors. You may wish to work in a laboratory or you might prefer working outdoors. It provides the participants with the skills and knowledge to work in community co-ordination and facilitation, indigenous land management, lands parks and wildlife, natural area restoration, vertebrate pest management and weed management.Students study the management of fauna populations, conduct biological surveys and collect and classify plants and will develop sound scientific and critical analysis skills. The Diploma is a very hands on program with a strong emphasis on practical learning. Dr Moulik Zaveri, Federation Business School, who brings more than ten years of industry and academic experience in marketing, will facilitate the presentation. Drawing on his expertise in marketing research and services marketing, Dr Zaveri will present to participants effective marketing research techniques that help business formulate effective marketing strategies.The presentation is targeted at SMEs and SoHos (Small Office/Home Office) businesses. It will delve into topics related to customer expectations, experience, and satisfaction and pre-empting strategies to develop a healthy on-going customer relationship with clients. Participants will:Gain a better understanding of marketing research and how to use it to their advantage within SME and SoHo context.Learn tools and techniques to measure customer beliefs, attitudes, and behaviour.Be able to develop strategies to provide better service/products backed by customer research.Appreciate the importance of value-based marketing.
