Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Student Success
Tammy Lee Chatwin
This award recognises an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander student who has demonstrated excellence in their effort in their university studies and have also made a positive impact in their local or university community.
Tammy commenced a Bachelor of Nursing at Federation University in 2019. During her three years at Fed, she has made many positive contributions to the Aboriginal community, Federation University, and the Aboriginal Education Centre. Tammy has achieved outstanding results academically, holding a GPA above 6 in her nursing degree. It hasn’t always been easy, navigating through many obstacles and challenges to study at Federation University. However, Tammy now finds herself in a position to make change for indigenous people and improve the healthcare system through her studies and future career.
Congratulations Tammy Lee Chatwin on the Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander of the Year Award.
