Health Centre information
The Health Centre is an accredited Health Centre offering a confidential service to all our students and staff. The travel health and vaccination service is available to the general public.
Appointments can be made by contacting the Health Centre on 53279477 between 9am and 5pm week days. Medical staff are available Monday to Thursday between 9am and 3.30pm and Friday between 9am and 1pm during semesters and limited hours during semester breaks.
*Please note that administration staff will be available to take calls until 5pm but the door will be shut from 4pm. Hours may be subject to change.
Emergencies will always be given priority. You will be contacted where possible if there are delays.
FedUni students: Are bulk-billed. Domestic students should supply their Medicare number; international students need to bring their overseas health cover card.
Staff: Standard consultation $61.30, Long consultation $95.30
EFTPOS is available — payment on the day. Medicare rebates apply - out of pocket cost $24.25.
Please note: holders of a Health Care Card and children under 16 years of age are bulk-billed.
Consultations: Average 15-20 minutes. You should tell the receptionist if you require more time.
Reminder system: Our practice is committed to ongoing preventative care. There is a recall system in the form of reminders, for patients requiring follow up for pap smears and travel health vaccinations. If you do not wish to be included in our reminder system please tell your doctor.
Test/procedures results: Your doctor will advise you if you need to make a follow up appointment for your results. Results will only be given over the phone if you are away on placement or if the doctor has asked you to call.
Travel Health: We are accredited to provide yellow fever vaccinations. Consultations are bulk-billed and vaccinations are charged at a competitive rate and available on site.
Services offered include: immunisation, pregnancy testing, pap smears, liquid nitrogen freezing therapy, sports medicine, skin and general health checks and sports and occupational medicals.
Information and advice: Is available on contraception, sexually transmitted infection, nutrition, alcohol and drug issues. You may drop in during office hours to make use of the health resources available.
Suggestions or complaints: Can be placed in the box provided in the reception area. You can make a complaint to the Practice Manager or directly to the Victorian Government Centre at:
