Australia Awards

The Australia Awards are prestigious international scholarships funded by the Australian Government and administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) that aim to develop leadership potential and stimulate lasting change by empowering a global network of talented individuals through high-quality education experiences in Australia and overseas.

International Excellence Scholarship

Is offered to eligible prospective international students applying for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. The International Excellence Scholarship is the equivalent of 20% of your tuition fees for the duration of your study program. Offers for this scholarship are made when applying for an eligible on-campus program at Federation University Australia and no additional application is required.

Open to commencing international students who elect to study and stay at the Ballarat, Gippsland and Berwick campuses in 2018.

Endeavour scholarships

The Australia Awards–Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are the Australian Government’s competitive, merit-based scholarships and fellowships providing opportunities for Australians to undertake study, research or professional development overseas and for overseas citizens to do the same in Australia.

FedUni has three grants available up to $5000 for students to undertake an exchange program at one of our 5 exchange partners in France.

These student grants are made possible with support from the Australian Government's Australia Awards - Endeavour Mobility Grants program.

To be eligible for one of the Australia Awards - Endeavour Mobility Grants, you must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, have an overall academic average of at least a Credit in a Bachelor, Bachelor (Honours) or Masters program and undertake your overseas exchange semester in Semester 1, 2018.

To apply for an exchange semester in France and be automatically considered for an Australia Awards - Endeavour Mobility Grant please complete the attached Application for Overseas Exchange Program (Outgoing) form and submit it to no later than 31 August, 2017.

Faculty of Science and Technology - Executive Dean Scholarship

The Faculty of Science and Technology offer eligible international students applying for a post-graduate program scholarships to the equivalent value of 20% of course fees.

2019 Foundation scholarships


The Federation University Australia Foundation Scholarships are for Higher Education, TAFE, domestic, CALD, migrant, refugee, international undergraduate or postgraduate FedUni campus students and online students.

Applications will be assessed on financial circumstances and commitment to study.

Scholarships open 1 November 2018 and close 22 February 2019.

On-campus international students

On-campus international students are encouraged to visit and where eligible, apply for scholarships, advertised on this site. Students should also apply for Kickstart so that their eligibility for bursaries and grants can be determined.
