About the Foundation

At Federation University we believe everyone has the right to access tertiary education.

But there are many challenges which put university out of reach for many, particularly those from regional and remote communities or from a low socio-economic status.

The Federation University Australia Foundation was developed to assist those students whose needs go beyond what our regular student support and government funding programs can offer.

One of the major focuses of the Foundation is to enable and empower students to aspire to, commence, continue, and complete their studies.

The Foundation assists those students whose pursuit of further education is disadvantaged by their circumstances.

A disadvantaged student is one who cannot obtain a State or Federal university placement or find external funding, who comes from a low socio-economic family environment, who may come from remote rural locations, who may be an Indigenous Australian, and who struggles to afford the opportunity of tertiary study.

We wish to make a difference for each of them.
