What are some of your career highlights?

Recognised for obtaining Star Award in 2019 for demonstrating superior customer service With Sydney Airport. A proven leader with specific recognition of diligence, immediate response, and being instrumental in reducing the impact of peak operations while continuing to improve the customer service.

Certified with appreciation for the extraordinary service and dedication to my profession at Ausstudies Pvt. Ltd., Kathmandu, Nepal in 2022 for Professional Education counselling given to students who wants to study in Australia.

Describe the most enjoyable and challenging aspects of your job

The most enjoyable moment is assisting students who are driven to their career. Especially building relationships with students and their parents and doing a follow up regarding their progress. Most importantly guiding students to choose a particular subject among wide range of course available at universities in Australia. The best part should I mention is when students get the positive visa decision from Department Of Home Affairs that the visa has been granted.

One of the most challenging parts is to work with the complex education and government system in Nepal dealing with Ministry of Education and banks and to offer students with No Objection Certificate and education loan. Another part would be dealing the students from remote areas and dealing with their emotional issues, academic difficulties and regarding the financials making counsellor like me hard to encounter such situations.

What are your strongest memories while you were studying at Federation University Australia?

I have had plenty of good memories studying abroad but one of the memorable memories I had is a challenging academic and working part time side by side and still being able to have good academic performance.

Studying abroad for international students from Asian counties are quite different with building relations with tutors or friends, the experience one has first encountered will be very awful due to shyness and being not able to speak well.

Well, but things changes and making lifelong friendships across the globe and exploring new interests are the best memories. I started doing photography as a hobby when I first met some photographers taking pictures of opera house. Besides, coffee making and going to gym for the fitness is something I cannot forget.

Do you have any advice about life after study to pass on to current students?

Learning is a never ending process. If a person is actively dedicated towards their ambitions, no one can stop him to build his own empire. Graduation certificate is a bonus if you have a lifelong experiences and learning. The job markets and new opportunity always awaits the new freshers so be adaptable and flexible. Do not hesitate to network with people you meet around. Building good network can help anyone with their jobs.

One should develop technical skills and make their hands dirty. The communication skills are a must. Students should not neglect their physical and mental health and always involve in sports that will make you active. Once, the mindset is strong, you can have a well balanced work life and a personal life. So, always stay focused and think about long term goals.
