Ronald Edwards-Pepper is an artist, educator and well-known Indigenous community member in the Gippsland region who graduated with a Bachelor of Visual and Media Arts in 2017.

Ronald is a proud Gunai Kurnai man and respected and prolific artist. He expresses himself through painting, telling the stories of his ancestors and striving to teach others about the land they walk on.

Ronald is a community leader who also promotes his culture and history through workshops, talks and education and by performing Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremonies across the Gippsland region.

For Yirramboi Festival 2021, Australia’s premier First Nations arts and cultural event, Ronald was commissioned to create work for the Town Hall Station site with detailed paintings about the Gunai Kurnai dreamtime stories.

Ronald’s career highlights include winning the Lin Onus Award in the 2008 Victorian Indigenous Art Awards; art gallery residencies and an artist exchange to Japan through the Latrobe Regional Gallery.
