I studied music performance at SMB because I’ve always had a real passion for music, but then I wanted more of a challenge so I became a teacher.

I realised that the qualifications I had from doing the double degree gave me exactly what I needed to qualify for the Diploma of Education at Fed Uni for primary teaching.

Since leaving Fed Uni, I was fortunate enough to get a job at a primary school in Ballarat. In my second year of teaching I got an ongoing position, which was amazing, and since then I’ve continued to take on leadership roles within the school.

For me it’s such a rewarding experience to be able to teach children at a primary school. I can be the teacher for them that I never had.
