An Australian play and high-life political comedy from 1912, in which the forces of socialism, feminism and conservatism fight out the choices between an election and an engagement to marry.

Blue Stockings

This 2013 play follows the story of four young women fighting for education and self-determination against the larger backdrop of women’s suffrage. Set at Girton College, Cambridge in 1896, the play’s title refers to bluestockings, a derogatory term for female intellectuals.

Music by John Kander | Lyrics by Fred Ebb | Based on the play by Maurine Dallas Watkins | Script adaptation by David Thompson

Chicago by John Kander and Fred Ebb is an American musical set in Prohibition-era Chicago, and based on a 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkins about actual crimes she reported on. The story is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice and the concept of the ‘celebrity criminal’ (especially female).

Our Country’s Good

The play, Our Country's Good, is centred on the first Australian penal colony in 1789, and the performance of the first play ever produced on Australian soil, performed by convicts.

The Sovereign Wife
