The Global and Engagement portfolio leads Federation’s domestic and international engagement activities. It comprises the Global Professional School, Engagement, the New Business Accelerator, Aboriginal Education Centre, the National Centre for Reconciliation, Truth and Justice, Alumni and the Federation University Foundation.
The Global Professional School is responsible for marketing, recruitment and admissions of international students and manages education partnerships, delivering Federation University programs in Australia and other countries. The team develops opportunities for Federation students to undertake an overseas study or work experience, building their global and cross-cultural competence.
The Engagement team works closely with government, industry, employers and communities to ensure that Federation is a key partner adding value to their organisations.
The New Business Accelerator facilitates Federation University’s flexibility and agility to fast-track development of short courses and microcredentials that responds to changing student and industry demand and drive new revenue and growth.
The Aboriginal Education Centre supports and assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students throughout their study journey at Federation University. Centres are located at each campus enabling students to easily access support services. The work of the Aboriginal Education Centre is complemented by the National Centre for Reconciliation, Truth and Justice – a national leader in reconciliation, and leads the development and delivery of the University’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
Federation University stays in touch with our alumni through the Alumni and Advancement team. Our alumni are exemplars of how education can make a difference and Federation values the contributions of our alumni in their communities.
The Foundation provides life changing support and scholarships for students who face financial need and welcomes donations from staff, individuals and corporations.

Carolyn Chong has help senior leadership roles across a range of portfolios at Swinburne University of Technology, Victoria University and RMIT University over the past twenty years, including most recently Dean of Swinburne Global Education.
Carolyn is an expert in partnered delivery, both internationally and domestically across several continents, and has overseen the set up and implementation of new campuses, most recently in Sydney and Vietnam. She has been Chair of Victorian TAFE International and has extensive experience in growing vocational training and industry partnerships, including Business to Business education.
A strategic thinker, Carolyn has built research and mobility partnerships across Europe and the Americas to complement significant success in New Colombo Plan funding for Asian partnerships. She brings expertise in building work placements and internships across higher education and vocational education.
Carolyn has worked closely with Federal, State and local governments and regulatory authorities both in Australia and their equivalents particularly across Asia.
