Gillies St is tucked away next to the North Gardens wetlands, not far from Lake Wendouree and the Ballarat Botanical Gardens. And although the Wendouree train station is literally across the road and it's only a five-minute walk to the Stockland shopping centre, the natural surroundings create a peaceful study environment. It's a perfect setting for horticulture, conservation land management, parks and gardens, landscape construction, food processing and agriculture students.
This may be our smallest campus, but it still has a student lounge, computer room, admin desk, courtyard and access to essential equipment and tools.
Getting to the Ballarat CBD takes about 10 minutes by car or 20 minutes by bus. (Or half an hour by foot if you follow the Steve Moneghetti Track around the lake.)
The traditional custodians for this area are the Wadawurrung peoples.
How to get to campus
There are two free car parks on campus – one at the front (off Gillies St) and one round the back (off Gregory St).
V/Line trains run from Ballarat to Melbourne, Ararat and Maryborough. The Melbourne-to-Ballarat service departs from Southern Cross Station and stops at Melton, Bacchus Marsh and Ballan. You can download a train timetable or plan your journey online. You'll need a myki to travel on trains.
If you need to come straight to campus from the Melbourne Tullamarine Airport, you can get an airport shuttlebus. The trip will take about 1.5 hours.
