Most of the six million files on the corporate server have either a reference to ‘University of Ballarat’ or ‘UB’ or contain a UB logo, which will need to be replaced. Whilst a lot of this work can be automated it will require a lot of manual work to make sure Federation University Australia’s web presence will be in place from 1 January 2014.
We are advising web publishers to consider this when updating or writing content. Avoid using terms such as ‘University of Ballarat’ or ‘UB’; perhaps use the term ‘University’ instead. Even better, consider the audience and speak directly to them. Eg ‘We offer a variety of courses. You can enrol online.’ etc. All web content will need to be reviewed and writing this way may save some work in the future.
We will be working closely with web content coordinators and publishers to provide advice and guidance throughout the transition phase.
