LQ & EQ

As a condition of registration with Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) and as part of the VET funding contract with the Higher Education Skills Group, the University must report against three quality indicators: Learner Engagement, Employer Satisfaction and Competency Completion.

Federation University Australia collects and reports against the three indicators by the following methods:

  • Learner engagement - the method used to collect and evaluate this data is by a student survey called the Learner Questionnaire (LQ)
  • Employer satisfaction - The method used to collect and evaluate this indicator is a survey of employers using the Employer Questionnaire (EQ)
  • Competency completion - the data sourced used to measure this indicator is our student enrolment and completions records. (Data provided by Data Reporting Unit VET)

Please see 'The Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) Quality Indicators' handbook for further information.

Conducting questionnaires

FedUni Surveys is responsible for the administration, distribution and collection of both the LQ and EQ.

We collect the LQ via our online survey tool. We call the questionnaire the TAFE eVALUate Survey. The TAFE eVALUate Survey will automatically be sent to students towards the end of 2nd term each year. Please visit the eVALUate Webpage for exact dates.

FedUni Surveys codes the surveys and then sends the completed questionnaires to ACER for reporting. The results are returned to Quality@FedUni by ACER. Quality then report to the Higher Education and Skills Group and ASQA; and publish the most recent quality indicators, RTO Registering Body Report and Re-registration Report on the University's website.

Please note:

All  feedback submitted through completion of this survey is collected in accordance with the University’s Information Privacy Policy and is regarded as confidential. All data collected is de-identified before being compiled into any report prepared for consideration and decision-making within the University.  Information which has been de-identified cannot be retrieved or modified.
