Undergraduate degrees

Bachelor of Applied Management

An applied degree is an innovative bachelor degree designed specifically for people studying high level certificates in TAFE. They focus on previous qualifications of diploma and advanced diploma along with working experience to allow students to gain the best possible credit for their previous studies into a degree.

Applied degrees are designed for working, career-focused adults and busy individuals seeking flexibility and convenience in education through part-time and online programs. Many such students have a variety of personal and work obligations that create a hectic schedule. By taking courses part-time and in innovative formats, such as blending online and face-to-face learning, students are able to obtain an advanced degree and still fulfill their other obligations. Applied degrees are for students who want to be academically challenged, but are also seeking practical development for on-the-job skills and knowledge.

Bachelor of Business

This program for students intending to gain a strong background across the broad scope of the main business and organisation functional areas, and develop a strong strategic and entrepreneurial emphasis towards innovation and the development and growth of businesses. Aside from undertaking a general Bachelor of Business, students may elect to undertake a specialization in human resource management, marketing, or management. A feature of the program is the group of practical business placements and projects courses that are available.

This flexible degree structure allows up to one-third of the program to be selected from other degree programs, including management, marketing, human resource management, tourism, Asian studies and languages, psychology, arts and mathematics as electives.

Bachelor of Commerce

This comprehensive program is designed to provide students with broad commerce skills required to be leaders in commerce and business.

As a generalist degree, it is particularly attractive to if you want to experience many different commerce courses rather than select a specific pathway.

The flexible degree structure allows program combinations to be tailored to suit chosen career paths. Aside from undertaking a general Bachelor of Commerce you may elect to undertake a specialization in accounting, economics and finance, or law. A feature of the program is the group of practical business placements and projects courses that are available.

The core curriculum in the Bachelor of Commerce focuses on quantitative, analytical and argumentation skills, although there is extensive scope through elective courses. Up to one-third of the program may be selected from other degree programs, including management, marketing, human resource management.

The accounting major is recognised and accredited by the Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA Australia), the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). Graduates of these programs can apply for membership of these associations

Bachelor of Business / Bachelor of Commerce

This double degree is a professional program for those wishing to pursue a career in the area of business commerce, business administration, management or human resource management. The double degree is designed to be flexible. Both degrees give students the practical and conceptual skills they need to be leaders in their profession.

We allow program combinations to be tailored to suit chosen career paths. Commerce students may elect to undertake a specialisation in accounting, applied economics and finance or business law. Business students may elect to undertake a specialisation in human resource management, management, or marketing.

Bachelor of Business (Honours)

The Bachelor of Business (Honours) program offers qualified students the opportunity for specialised study in business at an advanced level. This program is a combination of coursework and research. Honours aims to provide a post-degree level of study for students seeking to widen their knowledge in one of the specialist areas in a business-related discipline (economics, law, finance, accounting, marketing, management, tourism) offered by Federation Business School. It gives graduates the training necessary to conduct independent high-quality research in business and academic settings and cultivates analytical and critical skills and an awareness of emerging developments in business.

Honours is particularly suited to those who may wish to undertake research and study at masters or PhD level. However, students also undertake an Honours degree to give themselves a competitive edge in the market place by setting themselves apart from other graduates. Students can pursue an area of study of their choosing to demonstrate to a prospective employer that they have advanced knowledge in a field that is relevant and desirable to that organisation.

Masters of Business Administration

Masters of Professional Accounting

The Master of Professional Accounting provides you with a comprehensive program of study in accounting theory and practice, that is recognised and accredited by the Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA Australia), the Chartered Accountants of Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), and the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), enabling you to pursue a pathway to qualification as a professional accountant.

In addition to core subject areas of accounting, financial management and auditing, you will be introduced to related disciplines, including business law, taxation, information systems, economics and quantitative methods.
