Megan's PhD thesis interrogates the role of cricket in Indo-Australian relations through the 1935/36 inaugural tour of Megan PonsfordIndia.  

Megan recently worked as a research officer at Monash University on the Australian Research Council Linkage Project titled "Assessing the Australian Football League's Racial and Religious Vilification Laws to Promote Community Harmony." She has written research papers including Identities (2014) and is the author Home Ground (Hardie Grant, 2003). In 2013 she was an A.G.L Shaw fellow at the State Library of Victoria and was a recipient of an Australia-India Council travelling fellowship in 2007.
