High Performance Soils CRC
The CRC for High Performance Soils has been awarded $39.5 million over 10 years to help Australian farmers make decisions on complex soil management issues.
The funding is designed to optimise productivity, yield and profitability and ensure long-term sustainability of farming businesses.
“The University’s nationally recognised research expertise in this field will assist better management and decision making in the use and development of high performance soils,” Professor Leigh Sullivan, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), said.
“We also have expertise in the use and assessment of brown coal to create novel technologies and products that increase soil fertility and function.”
The FedUni team for this project will include researchers from our Centre for eResearch and Digital Innovation and the Faculty of Science and Technology.
The team will be led by Co-operative Research Centre with Associate Professor Peter Dahlhaus and Dr Vince Verheyen.
