Learning Resources

Making resources available to students

Learning Resources is a tool in Moodle which provides one centralised place for your students to access resources.

Using Learning Resources ensures copyright compliance, helps maintain durability of links for student access, and offers a professional standardised view for your students. The resources can be viewed in one list or added to a week, a topic, or a book through the editing toolbar. It also makes it easy to transfer resources to new Moodle shells.

Requesting new digitisations/resources lists

  1. Collate your list of resources and content required for teaching; URLs, files, videos.
  2. Submit via the online form, or email with unit code, link to Moodle shell (if available), semester, campus/s and citation style.
  3. We will contact you when the resources are available, and you can distribute the resource links throughout your unit.

It can take up to 6 weeks for a new scanned resource to be made available, i.e. if the source item is from overseas, or the book is in use with another patron.

Selecting and reviewing teaching resources

The Library has developed a guide to assist with all the various considerations that come with the selection and review of teaching resources; including selection, usage rights (including Copyright),accessibility, and management & review. You will also find contact details for all the relevant library sections in this handy guide.

Copyright compliance

Our copyright licence covers usage University-wide, not just for one course or unit. You are not permitted to upload journal articles or book chapters yourself as this may breach the University copyright licence. Using the Learning Resources service ensures you are complying with copyright. See the Copyright website for more information.
