Libkey and Browzine -Library

Posted: Tuesday 31 January 2023

After a trial of ThirdIron products last year and with positive feedback received, the library has now enabled ongoing access to LibKey and Browzine. These products are designed to enhance the user experience to online library resources.

LibKey

Works with library databases to connect users directly to the full text PDF of an article.  While searching QuickSearch you may come across LibKey linking and the download pdf option will link  directly to an article.  It is now also possible to link directly to the journal contents page from the results in QuickSearch via Browzine.

LibKey options will also appear in Web of Science and Scopus databases.

Students may also see a pdf link to LibKey via their course readings list in Moodle.

BrowZine

Allows users to browse and read journals by subject, review tables of contents, and download full articles.

To experience the Browzine features click here.

LibKey Nomad

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension for Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave and Vivaldi browsers. LibKey Nomad connects researchers to licensed library resources along with open access full text articles referenced on scholarly websites like PubMed, Wikipedia and publisher pages. Once LibKey Nomad is enabled you will be able to access resources instantly and in one-click!  A 'Download pdf' button appears when the library subscribes to an article on scholarly websites.

The Library encourages all users to download the LibKey Nomad extension.
