Following an extensive analysis of student inquiries and use of spaces throughout 2018, the Library is implementing some changes to Library Opening Hours for 2019.

In response to student feedback, we are time-shifting our staffed Library hours to open earlier at some sites and to extend weekend openings. While our staffed spaces will close earlier, our popular after hours spaces at SMB and Gippsland considerably extend study space availability. 

Over the HE semester period, the libraries will be open as follows:

Monday - Friday:

• Berwick               8.00am – 6:00pm
• Gippsland            8.30am – 6:00pm
• Mt Helen              8.00am – 6:00pm
• SMB                     9:00am – 5:00pm
• Wimmera             8:45am – 4:45pm (Mon-Thurs, with an hour closure for lunch)

Weekends:

• Berwick                 12:00pm – 5:00pm on Sundays
• Gippsland              12:00pm – 5:00pm on Saturday
• Mt Helen                12:00pm – 5:00pm on Saturdays
• SMB                       12:00pm – 5:00pm on Sundays

After Hours library learning spaces:

In addition to the staffed Library hours above, our after-hours spaces in Ballarat and Churchill are open extended hours:

• SMB Library west annex:
  • Monday to Friday:           7:00am – 10:00pm
  • Saturdays and Sundays: 7:00am – 10:00pm
     
• Gippsland Library Group Study Space
  • Monday to Friday:            6:00pm – 8:30am
  • Saturdays and Sundays: 12:00am – 12:00noon
  • Saturdays and Sundays:  5:00pm – 12:00am

Virtual Enquiries:

We have also extended the opening hours for the Library virtual enquiries services (chat, phones, email, LibAnswers). These services are available:

• Monday to Friday:                           8.30am – 6:00 pm
• Saturdays and Sundays:                 12:00pm – 5:00 pm
