New students applying for admission within one of the eligible study areas listed below are encouraged to submit an application in to the Industry Placement Program. The program stretches over three years and encompasses a suite of professional development sessions, industry placement and an academic course assessment.
Placements are for either two 13-week duration (engineering students) or one 26-week duration. Students generally commence their placement towards the end of their second year or within the third year. This can be dependent on the individual student's study programs. Students completing the 13-week placements will receive a $7,500 scholarship per 13 week placement, whilst students completing a 26-week placement will receive a $15,000 scholarship when placement commences. All payment are paid on a fortnightly basis.

The Industry Placement Program is open to students planning to study an undergraduate, domestic, full-time, on-campus bachelor degree at FedUni in:
- Business and economics
- Information technology
To be eligible applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- Sound academic achievement
- Involvement in school and community activities
- Leadership and teamwork experience
- Previous work experience
- Motivation, enthusiasm and commitment.
IPP is not offered to students studying single or double degrees in nursing, midwifery, education or single or double degrees in social and community welfare or psychology. These degrees already include compulsory field or clinical placements for students. This also includes all other courses which have a compulsory field or placement requirement.
