Industry Placement Program
Federation University Australia's (FedUni) Industry Placement Program (IPP) brings together leading employers and students from a range of discipline areas, to provide students studying at the Gippsland Campus with an opportunity to gain valuable industry experience.
Gippsland Campus students participating in IPP undertake a placement of up to 26 weeks with an employer in the same field as their studies. To help offset the costs involved in balancing study and placement, IPP students receive a scholarship payment of up to AUD $15,000.
IPP gives students industry experience while studying towards a degree. Students apply the knowledge they've learnt in the classroom, while developing hands-on employment skills that are sought by employers.
Our partners are leading organisations, including VicRoads, National Australia Bank, the Department of Environment and Primary Industries, Gippsland Water and Latrobe City Council.
The Industry Placement Program is open to students planning to study an undergraduate bachelor degree at FedUni Gippsland Campus in:
- Art and design
- Business and economics
- Information technology
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
- sound academic achievement
- involvement in school and community activities
- leadership and teamwork experience
- previous work experience
- motivation enthusiasm and commitment.
IPP is not offered to students studying single or double degrees in nursing, midwifery or education, or single or double degrees in social and community welfare or psychology. These degrees already include compulsory field or clinical placements for students.
Other conditions and eligibility criteria may apply.
The IPP is an excellent way for your organisation to tap into the next generation of industry professionals studying at the Gippsland campus.
Participating students bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm and dedication as they work with your staff to help achieve your business goals.
