Tech-savvy students pay it forward

Posted: Tuesday 3 July 2018

Students from FedUni’s Brisbane Campus recently completed an industry placement with partners CoderDojo, a global community of free programming clubs for young people aged between 7-17.

The industry engagement program gives international students the invaluable opportunity to practise English and revise their IT knowledge while supporting young minds who have a passion for technology and robotics.

“I joined CoderDojo because I love teaching and sharing knowledge with others”, said Indian student Anchal Gulati.

“It’s an excellent platform to improve my abilities while teaching young people new computer skills.”

CoderDojo program coordinator Kate Holmes said the FedUni students had proven to be valued members of the mentor group, actively contributing to the program.

There are approximately 1250 Dojos spread across 69 countries.
