Hospitality programs to receive funding boost

Posted: Friday 13 April 2018

Federation University Australia will use increased funding from the Victorian Government to further the training of hospitality students in the Ballarat region.

The bulk of the $158,000 funding will go towards course set up and delivery costs including materials development, industry expo events and the appointment of a specialist hospitality teacher.

“This new funding will help our hospitality students to improve their skills and create more employment opportunities,” Barry Wright, Executive Dean of FedUni TAFE, said.

“We thank the Victorian Government and look forward to working with it and other industry bodies to further hospitality training in Ballarat.”

The project is funded under the Regional and Specialist Training Fund, which addresses demand for specific skills in regions and specialist areas that are not being met in the current training market.
