First FedUni New Colombo Plan Alumni Ambassador announced

Posted: Monday 18 September 2017

Federation University Australia student Catherine Elliott has been appointed the University’s first New Colombo Plan Alumni Ambassador.

“As the NCP Alumni Ambassador it is my role to promote the program at the university and within the community, to help other NCP alumni and hopeful NCP participants with their queries about the program and to connect people with the resources they need,” Catherine said.

“There is also a society being established on campus in the coming weeks too.”

Catherine, who studies at Federation Business School, was flown to Sydney to attend training and a reception event at the Museum of Sydney.

In late August, the Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, launched the New Colombo Plan Alumni Ambassador program.

In 2015, Catherine travelled to Singapore with four other Federation Business School students on a 14-day study tour as a recipient of a New Colombo Plan mobility grant under the pilot program.

Catherine has since returned to the Indo-Pacific region with NCP funding to undertake a semester of exchange at Pukyong National University in South Korea.
