FedUni delighted to host Blue Tie Ball again

Posted: Monday 21 August 2017

Federation University Australia is pleased once again to host the Blue Tie Ball at the Mt Helen Campus on Saturday, 28 October.

The ball, now in its sixth year, will be a night of fun and entertainment to raise funds and awareness for beyondblue, the national organisation that works to raise awareness about anxiety and depression.

“Guest speakers on the night will be beyondblue ambassadors and 2017 My Kitchen Rules contestants, Mark Virgona and Chris Jongebloed,” Colin Marshall, Director of Campus Life, said.

“Mark and Chris are best friends who met after high school and share a love of food and AFL footy.”

They have both travelled overseas together and teamed up for the television show My Kitchen Rules this year. Mark and Chris are volunteer speakers for beyondblue.

Mark became a beyondblue speaker after experiencing depression a couple of years ago and does not want others to feel the pain he suffered.

He wants to make a difference in society and share his experience that it is right to speak up and the importance that mateship has on beating the illness.

Chris became a beyondblue speaker because he has seen the benefits of talking openly about anxiety and depression. He wants to encourage others in similar situations to do the same.

This is an event not to be missed and the University would be delighted to have you attend and support this worthy cause.

Take advantage of the early bird rate and reserve your table of 10 before Friday 29 September for $1,000. Individual ticket purchases are also welcomed.

You can purchase your tickets online today via www.federation.edu.au/bluetieball. Tickets include canapés on arrival, a two-course dinner, beverages, charity auction and plenty of music and dancing.
