Four outstanding student-athletes have been chosen to lead Federation University Australia local sporting teams at the Berwick Campus in 2017.

• Team captain for Soccer is Joseph Connell (Bachelor of Business)
• Team captain for Basketball is Lawrence Pierre (Bachelor of Business)
• Team vice-captain for Basketball is Avishka Randeni who is also captain for the team X Netball team (Bachelor of Veterinary and Wildlife Science)
• Team Y captain for Netball is Gemma Mintern (Bachelor of Veterinary and Wildlife Science)    

Captain of the Y Netball team, and Bachelor of Veterinary and Wildlife Science student, Gemma Mintern of Tooradin says participating in sport on campus is a great way to connect and encourages all students to join in. 

“It’s a great way to meet students across the campus on a different level than my degree can offer. It also recognises the benefits of sport, recreation and fitness to a healthy university community as well as supporting health and fitness activities while studying,” Gemma said.
