Biography

Dr. Kim joined the Geotechnical and Hydrogeological Engineering Research Group (GHERG) in February 2013. His primary interests lie in bridging the gap between fundamental scientific understanding (micro-scale) and the needs in engineering practice (macro-scale), and in collaborating with specialists in other disciplines to bring together respective collective knowledge. His current research focuses on geomaterials and energy geotechnology: for example, micro-scale processes and environmental factors affecting time-dependent deformation (creep) of brown coals.
