Science and Engineering Challenge background
Thanks to the vision and enthusiasm of staff at the University of Newcastle the Science and Engineering Challenge exists as a nation-wide success story and is beginning to have an international profile.
The Challenge began in 2000 in the Newcastle region, but its success at the local level secured the ongoing support of the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science, Research and Tertiary Education so that now more than 20,000 students across Australia take part each year. The first international Challenge was held in Singapore in 2008.
Several organisations now support the Challenge at the National level. For further information on this and other aspects of the Challenge visit the University of Newcastle Challenge website.
Federation University Australia is proud to join with the Rotary Club of Wendouree and Engineers Australia Ballarat Branch in offering the Science and Engineering Challenge to students of Ballarat and western regional Victoria.
