Centre of Research for Resilient Communities

Powerful, creative, engaged research that supports vibrant, resilient communities

Resilience is the capacity of an individual or community to cope with stress, overcome adversity or adapt positively to change.

CoRRC is an interdisciplinary research centre with research expertise in health, sociology, geography, communication, community development, business, economics, education and information systems. We undertake research to support communities and social planners in strengthening community resilience.

The Centre's research program will focus on four areas:

  • Understanding resilience
  • Community resilience, health and wellbeing
  • Ethical leadership for resilient communities
  • Resilience at the nature/society interface

CoRRC's Co-Directors are Associate Professor Pamela Wood and Dr Michelle Duffy.
