Sport, physical and outdoor education
The Bachelor of Sport, Physical and Outdoor Education combines elements of three disciplines – sport science, physical education and outdoor education. It is a generalist degree that you tailor to your particular interests by choosing elective courses in sport management, outdoor education or health and physical activity.
The program is dynamic, challenging and provides the foundations to become an effective professional in, and advocate for, health, sport, physical and outdoor activity.
This focus on specialist areas will enable you to follow your career path and pursue employment opportunities in your area of interest. You can apply the knowledge and skills developed through the program with up to 150 hours of supported placement in your selected field (sport, physical or outdoor education).
If you decide to pursue a career in teaching, you may be eligible to transfer into the Bachelor of Health and Physical Education, or double degree, or you can go on to study a Masters of Teaching after completing the Bachelor of Sport, Physical and Outdoor Education degree.
With a common first year, students in the Bachelor of Sport, Physical and Outdoor Education who perform well in their first year may apply to transfer into the second year of the Bachelor of Health and Physical Education or the Bachelor of Health and Physical Education / Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education.
