Outdoor and environmental education
If you are someone who is interested in spending time outdoors, exploring the environment and understanding sustainability issues, the Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education is calling.
Explore Victoria's rivers, rocky landscapes, high country and forested regions through bush-walking, canoeing, rock-climbing and more. Learn how to work with young people while exploring the natural environment and the interplay between nature and culture.
You will spend a lot of your time learning through doing in the great outdoors. After graduation, you will be able to draw on these experiences in your career as a freelance outdoor educator, adventure guide, group leader or a recreation worker.
To teach outdoor education at secondary school level, you can study outdoor and environmental education as an alternative teaching method in the Bachelor of Health and Physical Education (a minor in outdoor education) or undertake a double degree in Bachelor of Health and Physical Education/ Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education (a major in outdoor education). You can also choose to study a Master of Teaching (Secondary) once you have completed the Bachelor of Outdoor and Environmental Education.
