Strength and conditioning
Do you want to work in high-performance sport? A vital member of any coaching staff is the Strength and Conditioning Coach. The Strength and Conditioning coach contributes to the physical preparation of the athlete, and designs and delivers fitness programs to enhance sports performance and reduce the risk of injuries, as well as facilitating recovery from training and competition. The Strength and Conditioning coach works closely with athletes to monitor their progress in the development of physical qualities such as strength, power, endurance, speed, and agility.
To develop the knowledge, practical coaching skills, accreditation, and experience to work as a Strength and Conditioning coach, post-graduate studies are very important. The Master of Strength & Conditioning at Federation University Australia has been designed to equip you with the attributes you need. You will work closely with experienced staff who are passionate about Strength and Conditioning and want to help you achieve your career goals. This face-to-face program is delivered in Ballarat, a regional city known for its rich history and thriving sporting culture. Ballarat is a commutable driving distance from Melbourne (about 1.5 hours) or Geelong (about an hour).
In addition to participating in engaging tutorials, and hands-on practical classes, you will be provided with opportunities to work in the field through practical placements. The placements will allow you to work directly with athletes and coaches locally, nationally or overseas.
