ELECTRIC VALLEY STUDIOS 2 showcased work by staff at Monash’s Gippsland Centre for Art and Design.

Ranging across photography, installation, painting, sculpture, installation, printmaking and video, the exhibition showed the range of Lecturing and technical talent on offer to students studying visual arts at the Gippsland Campus.

This was a lively selection of contemporary works by both the lecturing and technical support staff in the Centre. A sampler of the mentorship and critical heft Gippsland visual arts students can access, it included leading Australian artists such as sculptor Dr Sanne Mestrom, whose work is currently featured in NEW13 at the prestigious Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Rosalind Atkins, one of Australia’s most respected printmakers and leading contemporary realist painter Graeme Drendel.
