Codex infinitum - the infinite book

Thu 10 Oct - Thu 7 Nov 2013

For Codex infinitum – the infinite book, artist Rhonda Ayliffe created a diverse body of work that includes ephemeral book works, installations, photographic works, and handmade books.

Her work explores ideas about the future of knowledge and the book in an increasingly digital world. Ayliffe’s background in traditional book crafts has imparted an intimate connection to the book and this relationship is played out in her dystopian/utopian works. She simultaneously laments and exalts the fate of the book through a disconcerting juxtaposition of battered and charred volumes, meticulously hand bound artist’s books and digitally dependent volumes.
