Biography

Kate is adjunct research fellow here at FedUni and Director of the eight-country Women in Higher Education Management Network. She is co-editor of Gender Power and Management: A Cross-Cultural Analysis of Women in Higher Education (2011).

Research interests

Kate's research focuses on women in higher education, women's academic careers and women in science.

Supervision

Principal supervisor of Lesley Birch's PhD thesis in the Faculty of Arts, Victoria University, Melbourne. The thesis topic was: Women's Decisions to Undertake Higher Research Degrees: a narrative inquiry. All three examiners passed the thesis and Lesley graduated in June 2011.
