Biography

Leanne Howard is a research fellow in the Collaborative Research Centre in Australian History (CRCAH). She is currently conducting oral history interviews, and researching, writing and editing a history of the Ballarat Community Health Centre.

Leanne's academic interests specifically relate to cultural heritage, landscape and communities with a particular emphasis on utilising oral history and a community-centred approach. Leanne has a sustained interest in the Irish cultural landscape and has conducted fieldwork for her doctoral research on the west coast of Ireland.

Prior to her research work at CRCAH, Leanne's professional life was largely spent in the higher education sector in a variety of roles including managing scholarly and library cultural collections and services, developing and conducting information literacy programmes and research instruction for students and academic staff, developing teaching and learning initiatives, managing public events, undertaking research, and developing policy.
