Higher Degree by Research (HDR) Initiative
The Inner Gippsland Children and Youth Area Partnership Research Collaboration (IGCYAP) Higher Degree by Research (HDR) initiative involves doctoral and masters students undertaking research projects that are co-designed by Federation University Australia and IGCYAP working groups. The HDR students are enrolled full-time at FedUni and awarded tax-free scholarships collectively funded by a number of IGCYAP members Anglicare ChildFIRST Alliance, Berry Street, Vulnerable Children's Reform Unit, and the Faculty of Education and Arts (FedUni).
Scholarship research topics were developed by the IGCYAP working groups to address the partnership priorities:
- Engaging young people living in out-of-home care as decision-makers and leaders to bring about attitudinal, organisational and systemic change in out-of-home care.
- Improving, embedding and sustaining the trauma-informed practice of practitioners.
- Exploring whether identifying, engaging and supporting young people early reduces offending.
- Exploring why vulnerable families fall out of the system and/or disengage from family services.
Scholarship applications will be open from October – November 2016, to commence in February 2017. View scholarship information.
