RACI'S Hartung Youth Lecture

The annual Hartung Youth Lecture is an annual initiative of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI). The lecture aims to inspire students in years 9-12. Designed to be an engaging and educational experience, each lecture is given in the tradition of the enthusiastic lectures given by Ernst Johannes Hartung (1893-1979), academic, professor of chemistry and astronomer. This year's quest speaker is Sir Martyn Poliakoff. Martyn is a Research Professor in Chemistry at the University of Nottingham His research interests are focused on supercritical fluids, continuous reactions and their applications to Green Chemistry. He is a strong science communicator and is well known for his extensive work on the Periodic Table of Videos and YouTube series of a range of experiments.

2017 HDR Research Conference

The research conference provides an opportunity to showcase the exciting research being conducted by our Higher Degree by Research candidates. The theme of this year’s conference is “Making your vision a reality”. The aim of the conference is to: 1. Give our Higher Degree by Research candidates an opportunity to practice and hone their research communication skills with a lay audience in a supportive setting; 2. Professional development; and 3. Helping to build a strong research culture in the university. The emphasis of the conference is more on the presentation experience rather than on the specific research presented. Who Can Participate? All Higher Degree by Research candidates from Federation University Australia are invited to participate in this years’ conference. How Can I Participate? 1. Oral Presentation 2.
