Changes to 2016 enrolment process

You can now log into my Student Centre (mySC@federation.edu.au) and enrol in your classes for 2016.

Enrolment process changes

New functionality has been released into my Student Centre for the 2016 enrolment period.

This new functionality checks for any pre-requisite, co-requisite and/or exclusion requirements associated with each of the courses you want to enrol in. (An exclusion requirement is where completion of specified courses will prevent you from enrolling in another course.)

What does this mean for me?

We have changed the system so that you can only enrol into courses for which you have met, or are enrolled to meet, the course requirements, or for which there are no course requirements. The system will no longer allow you to enrol into courses for which you haven't met the enrolment requirements, or into courses for which you need special permission to enrol.

Enrolment requirements for a course

As you select each of the classes you want to enrol in any pre-requisite, co-requisite and/or exclusion information will be displayed on your screen, under the heading 'Enrolment Information'.

Meeting enrolment requirements for chosen course

If you have met the course pre-requisite, co-requisite and/or exclusion, or are currently enrolled in courses which will allow you to meet these requirements, your enrolment into this class will be permitted.

Not meeting enrolment requirements for chosen course

If you have not met the course pre-requisite, co-requisite and/or exclusion, or are not currently enrolled in courses which will allow you to meet these requirements, your enrolment into this class will not be permitted, and you will get an error message.

Enrolment in courses that require faculty approval

Some courses, such as project courses or industry placement courses, require faculty approval before you can enrol in them. This requirement will be clearly indicated in the Enrolment Information field and in the error message you receive if you continue with your enrolment in this course. You will need to contact your faculty office to obtain permission to enrol into this course.

Enrolled in course for future semester - not met enrolment requirements when that semester starts

As soon as results for each teaching period are released an internal process will be run to identify all students who have not met the enrolment requirements for the courses they are enrolled in for the next teaching period. If you are one of these students your enrolment in the course for which enrolment requirements have not been met will be automatically dropped from your enrolment record, unless there are special academic circumstances which apply. In these situations you may be able to continue in your chosen course even though the enrolment conditions have not been met.

Completed studies or in last semester of enrolment

Congratulations! An invitation to attend a graduation ceremony will be sent to you after all final results have been approved and your eligibility to graduate has been confirmed. Further information about our new graduation process will be provided at this time.
