Overdue fees - Domestic students

Commonwealth Supported Place - Student Contribution Amount

If you do not pay your Student Contribution Amount by the invoice due date (semester census date), and you:

  • are eligible for HECS-HELP;
  • have completed a 'Request for Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP' form, and
  • have provided the University with your Tax File Number (TFN)

any outstanding Student Contribution Amount after census date will be deferred to your HECS-HELP loan and reported to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Once your Student Contribution has been deferred upfront payments cannot be accepted by FedUni. Any future payments for deferred amounts must be made to the ATO.

However, there are serious consequences if you do not pay your Student Contribution Amount by the due date (semester census date) and you:
  • have not applied for HECS-HELP to defer your Student Contribution Amount, or
  • have applied for HECS-HELP, but have not provided your TFN to the University, or
  • are not eligible for HECS-HELP

your enrolment will be cancelled if your student contribution is not paid in full on or before the relevant semester census date. We will notify you that your enrolment has been cancelled.

Fee-paying place - tuition fees

If you do not pay your tuition fees in full by the invoice due date (semester census date), and you

  • are eligible for FEE-HELP, and
  • have completed a 'Request for FEE-HELP assistance' form, and
  • have provided the University with your Tax File Number (TFN)

any outstanding tuition fee after census date will be deferred to your FEE-HELP loan and reported to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). Once your tuition fees have been deferred upfront payment cannot be accepted by FedUni. Any future payments for deferred amounts must be made to the ATO.

However, there are serious consequences if you do not pay your tuition fees by the due date (semester census date) and you;

  • have not completed a 'Request for FEE-HELP assistance' form, and
  • have not provided your Tax File Number to the University, or
  • are not eligible for FEE-HELP

The consequences may include cancellation of enrolment for students who have not paid their tuition fees by the census date or applied for FEE-HELP. The University will issue you with a warning before cancelling your enrolment.
