Rainer Pollard

Music Director, Sessional

Rainer Pollard is a freelance musician and music director based in Melbourne. Since moving to Melbourne from sunny Queensland, he has been highly sought-after as a music director (for both musical theatre and cabaret), repetiteur, accompanist, vocal coach, pit musician and arranger. Rainer works as a sessional lecturer, vocal coach and musical director at Federation University Australia in Ballarat with Arts Academy students. Through his work, Rainer has performed at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Perth Fringe Festival, Ballarat Cabaret Festival as well as his work being performed at the Melbourne Cabaret Festival 2016. Some of Rainer’s other recent credits include: Bye Bye Birdie, The Addams Family, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Urinetown, When Midnight Strikes, Hairspray, CATS, and the Australian premier performance of the song cycle Songs from an Unmade Bed.
