Senior Lecturer, Creative Writing
Annette Chappell is a writer and visual artist with an extensive professional background in community development initiatives. Working with community organisations and individuals she links creative writing, performance and the visual arts whenever possible. She has led the production of performances and associated poetry/prose publications with the City of Ballarat Begonia Festival and Art Gallery of Ballarat. Her current research interests relate to practice-led research and auto-ethnographic methodologies, locating self-narratives in both visual and written forms. She regularly participates in materials conservation activity in Italy, including fresco and gilded wood restorations which inform her contemporary studio practice. Annette is a supervisor of honours and masters degrees in cross-disciplinary projects involving creative writing and visual arts.
